CURRENT NICKEL COATING

Current Nickel plating is based on electrolytic nickel plating of steel, copper and copper alloys, zinc and zinc alloys. There are 2 types of classification. The 1st type of classification is based on the suitability of the coating for decorative and corrosion or industrial purposes. In the 2nd type classification, it is graded according to different coating thicknesses. When nickel plating is intended to be used for decorative purposes, the expectations are that the surface should be homogeneous, shiny and full-looking. In cases where functional qualities are desired, it is possible to obtain gains such as corrosion resistance, wear resistance, hardness, magnetic effect, etc. Nickel coatings are also used in electroforming.
